The Polka Dot Cake and Dessert Bar!

My sister, Vicki, of Pretty Sweet and I, love to create elaborate dessert and candy bars. This year for Emma's party, the cake seemed to take a back seat to the rest of the little goodies, however, as Vicki was getting ready to paint icing polka dots onto the cake, we looked at each other and at the exact same time said- gum balls... we have this strange psychic thing going on (or maybe it psychotic? either way). 

So we designed this flow of gum ball polka dots down the side of the cake- I think it is absolutly ADORABLE...

here is what's going on in there...

(from left) meringues, cotton candy, cake pops by Pretty Sweet, pink popcorn, orange malt balls, pink pistachios, Pockey sticks, sugar cookies, polka dot smoothies, modified from Sweet Paul's idea, Pretty Sweet's whoopee pies, and the cake- and then repeat!

The dots on the back wall were a take on these streamers from BHLDN (Anthropologie's wedding store) that sis and I made while watching Oddities and Storage Wars (addictive). 

We took away one side of the "sweets" and added our polka dot lunch
